Phoenix Coaches, MerseyLink & Cradle Mountain Coaches

Westbus is owned & operated by Grant & Jan Bingley who have operated in Westbury for over 20 years.  In 2011 they purchased Phoenix Coaches in Devonport servicing the Devonport & outlying hinterland communites with school bus and coach charters.  Phoenix operate between all Devonport & Ulverstone schools and colleges.  With a growing fleet of 45+ buses Phoenix employs 50 fully licensed and trained drivers.

In 2013 Grant & Jan purchased MerseyLink along with 25+ buses.  MerseyLink are responsible for an extensive regional transport service and a network of school bus routes.

Cradle Mountain Coaches is the groups latest acquisition - discover the beautiful Tasmania Wilderness from Lake St Clair, Cradle Mountain, Walls of Jerusalem and more.  The favourite bushwalkers bus for walking clubs, schools and independent travellers to any location in Tasmania, any day any time, 7 days a week, pre-booked or on demand, you decide where and when we pick you up - we provide personal door to door service with some of Tassie's finest tour guide/drivers.

 

Mole Creek Primary School

Westbus has recently purchased 3 school bus routes that transport children to the Mole Creek Primary School from surrounding areas.  School bus route and timetables are shown under School Bus Routes.

 

Cocktail Party - Westbus official opening

On Friday 13th November 2009 we celebrated the official opening of the Westbus Depot and the second unveiling of the Westbury murals. Twenty murals line the interior building depicting Westbury historic properties.

Community Award 2009

Community awardWestbus has been awarded a Tidy Towns 2009 Award in November for bringing the Westbury Community together at a community tea we have the first Friday of every month.

Westbury Depot

Westbus DepotThis warehouse was built in 1971 by the Thomas family for carpet warehouse and later sold to Frank Bardenhagen and used for a gemstone and mineral display.

Do You Need A GreenCard ?

Parents with Concession Cards may be eligible for Free Passes for their children.  These students will need to have a Student Greencard For Free Travel on a fare paying bus.

Greencards are not required any longer for fare paying students.

Free Travel entitlements

If you are eligible or think you may be eligible for free travel, please visit Greencard Application.   Greencards with a large EXPIRY date printed on the reverse means the student has FREE travel.

Any full-time student who: is less than 18 years of age or turning 18 during the school year is eligible.
